Blackfalds

Skating Club

Hello Parents,

There has been some concerns posted on other groups about the Volunteer and Fundraising deposits. These deposits help keep our fees low and ensure we can showcase the skaters with our Christmas Showcase and year end Carnival. The Volunteer deposit is paid back as soon as you complete your selected Volunteer task, which can range from making name tags to handing out Fundraising letters to making decorations for the Carnival. Fundraising is a requirement for most organized sports. Some require bags of refundable beverage containers to selling Raffle tickets, etc. Your Fundraising deposit is refunded to you when you sell the Raffle Tickets/chocolates/wreath/etc. We do realize that, for some families, these deposits can influence the affordability of joining the Club and I encourage you to reach out to the Club with your concerns. The Club is a volunteer ran non-profit, all of the money paid to the Club stays with the Club and is used to improve the Club.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you!
