About Us
The Blackfalds Skating Club is a non-profit, volunteer operated club established in 1998. The 2023-24 season is our 25th season, and last year we had about 90 registrants. Our 3 coaches are National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) certified and regulated. The Club’s mission is to provide skaters of all ages with a fun, friendly and affordable environment that promotes physical activity in an encouraging and positive way.
We offer skating programs for skaters of all abilities. Our skaters range from pre-school skaters who are learning to skate through our CanSkate programs to recreational skaters who enjoy skating as a leisure sport. We also offer skating programs for those who chose to enter different skating paths such as ringette and hockey.
Each session builds up to an ice show; our Fall session ends with the annual Christmas Show, while our winter session ends with our Year End Carnival. The ice shows are open to families, friends, and the community to enjoy all our skaters while they showcase their skills developed through hard work put in throughout the sessions. The skaters are grouped by skill level and perform to fun music with choreography by our amazing coaches, and solos and duets are showcased by our higher-ranking members.
